The competition is organized by The Masters Review, an American literary magazine and book publisher.

 Winter is coming! The Masters Review’s Short Story Award for New Writers is a bi-annual contest that recognizes the best fiction from today’s emerging writers. Judging 2022-2023’s winter contest is Morgan Talty, author the story collection Night of the Living Rez.

There is no theme but stories should not exceed 6,000 words.

Only previously unpublished work will be accepted.

Entries should be in English.

Entry fee
The entry fee is $20.

Prizes
• 1st place: US$3,000
• 2nd place: US$300
• 3rd place: US$200
